I like to see the task manager green icon sitting in the system tray when I start my computer. And I would like to see the CPU load indicator starts automatically in minimized mode without taking up tab space in the task bar at the bottom.

So how do you make it starts in minimized mode automatically in Win XP? Well, it is achievable with a few simple steps.

1. Create ShortCut that run the Program in Minimized Mode
Go to C:\Windows\System32 to locate the taskmanager file. Next make a shortcut of the taskmanager program. Right click and select Properties. Select "Minimized" for the Run field.

2. Make the Program Start Automatically After Win XP Boot
Go to Startup  by navigating to C:\Documents and Settings\\Start Menu\Programs\Startup where is the current computer user name. Copy the TaskManager shortcut (made in step 1) to here.

3.Prevent the Program Tab Appears On the TaskBar
Start TaskManger. When the Windows TaskManager pops up, select the Options Tab and select the Option "Hide When Minimized".

If you would like to see more detailed pc usage data at any time, just double click the task manager icon in the system tray and then it will pop up.
